Ground Penetrating Radar
The Ground Penetrating Radar Unit is a computerized scanner used for locating metallic and non-metallic man made objects below the surface of the ground. The unit has the capability to read up to 60' below the surface, depending on the type of soil and the density of the material being scanned. The 3D-image program allows the user to scan the object from the top, bottom, sides, or ends of the object. The scanned picture can be enhanced in size and color to aid in the interpretation of the object. (See disclaimer) The GPR unit can be used to locate tanks, piping, and many man-made objects of a symmetrical nature. The unit is very portable and can be used in virtually any unobstructed area.
DISCLAIMER: It should be understood that GPR scanning is subject to the discretion of the person reading the final printout image(s) supplied by the equipment. It should be further understood, the image(s) obtained, can be a manmade object(s) or mineralized soil that gives a false footprint or shape(s) similar to the item(s) for which the technician may be scanning. Digging or excavating should be preformed only after all utility mark outs have been preformed by the municipalities or utility companies listed for the site.
